Accessing the Lincoln Content Bank in Your LMS

This resource illustrates how to access the Lincoln Content Bank in your learning management system (LMS).

Navigate to the directions for your LMS by clicking the appropriate link below:

NOTE: Where you choose to access the Lincoln Content Bank will determine where the objects are added to the course.

Buzz

Click into the Editor of a course.

Next, click Add activity at the Topic, Lesson, or Course level.

Select External tools and click Lincoln Content Bank. The Lincoln Content Bank will open in a pop-up window.

Canvas

In Canvas, you can access the Lincoln Content Bank from the Modules view or in the Assignments Index

Begin by clicking on a course card to open it.

Module View

Adding objects from the Lincoln Content Bank from the Module view will allow all students to access the materials upon publishing them.

To do this, open the Lincoln Content Bank at either the Course level or Module level. The Lincoln Content Bank will open in a pop-up window.

NOTE: Accessing the Lincoln Content Bank at the Course level will add objects to a newly created Module titled New Content From App.

Assignments Index

Adding objects from the Lincoln Content Bank within the Assignments Index will allow you to assign the activity to a single student, multiple students, or all students within the course.

Begin clicking +Assignment within the course's Assignments Index.

Items from the Lincoln Content Bank can be added from the Rich Content Editor or the  Submission Type tool.

Rich Content Editor

TIP: This is ideal for assignments where you want to turn in authentic work for your review.

Within the Rich Content Editor, select Lincoln Content Bank from Apps.

TIP: If you do not see Lincoln Content Bank as an option, click View All to add it from All Apps.

 

IMPORTANT: Adding an object in Assignments will create a link in the context box to the activity. It is important to provide instructions and context for the students to understand the expectations of the assignment.

Submission Type Tool

TIP: This process is ideal for supplying supplemental learning materials.

From the Submission Type drop-down menu select External Tool.

Click Find.

From the Configure External Tool pop-up modal, select Lincoln Content Bank.

TIP: After adding the desired item from the Lincoln Content Bank, close the Configure External Tool pop-up modal.

Assignments

Schoology

Select a course from the COURSE DASHBOARD to open it.

From Materials, click the Add Materials button and then click Lincoln Content Bank.

TIP: To access the LCB at the lesson level, hover your cursor under the the lesson name, click the green plus icon, and select Lincoln Content Bank.
