Creating Tests and Editing Assessments in Learning Tree

This resource instructs teachers how to create their own tests and edit Lincoln Learning Assess Its in Learning Tree.

Teachers may want to create their own tests or edit Lincoln Learning Assess Its to customize their Lincoln Empowered course.

Navigating to Tests

Before you add a test or edit an Assess It, you must navigate to Tests from the Resources drop down in your Main Menu.

This will now take you to the Lincoln Learning assessment bank where you can create your own tests and preview and edit Lincoln Learning Assess Its.

Creating a Test

To create your own custom test, click + Add New Test.

In Add/Edit Test, begin to customize your test by adding details, adjusting the grading scale, and adding questions.

Details

In Details, give your test a Title. You can decide whether there is a Maximum Time(min) or select No Time Limit.

Optionally, you can also choose Organization Share to share your test with your organization and give your test a Description.

NOTE: Sharing with your organization will allow other teachers in your site to see your test and use it to customize their course.

Performance Rubric

If you want to customize this test’s grading scale, you can in Performance Rubric by sliding the circle on each line to your desired score.

IMPORTANT: The red circle should always remain at the default of 0.

Questions

Finally, you will want to begin adding questions. In Questions, select + Find Questions.

You will be taken to the Questions window where you have access to the question bank. From here, you can use the elastic search or search bar to filter your results. You can even view questions you’ve already created.

TIP: Try layering your elastic search filters and adding a keyword to the search bar.

 IMPORTANT: Using a keyword will only search for that term in the question.

Once you find a question you may want to add to your test, preview it by selecting the Question hyperlink.

After you preview the question, click the X in the upper-right corner to return to the Questions window.

If you’ve decided you want to add the question to your test, click the Add icon.

Your question is now added to your shopping cart.

Continue to search, preview, and add questions to your cart, and when you’re ready to add the questions to your test, click the Continue & Save arrow.

Your questions are now added to your test. If you’ve changed your mind and want to remove a question, click Remove. You can also change the question order by dragging and dropping the items into your desired order in the Ordering panel.

When you’re finished creating your test, click Save.

To access your newly created test, you will either find it in My Tests or My Shared Tests depending on whether you shared the test with your organization.

Editing a Lincoln Learning Assess It

You may want to edit an Assess it, because you want to remove questions due to hiding content in the course. Or, you may want to add your own questions into the question pool.

IMPORTANT: You cannot edit an Assess It in the Learning tab.

Begin by using the elastic search and search bar to locate the Assess It you would like to edit.

After locating the Assess It, click the More Options icon.

From the pop, select Make a copy.

In the Test Details pop up, give your test a name and click Save.

Your test was successfully cloned, and you will now find the test by selecting My Tests.

To edit the test, select the More Options icon on the test.

From the pop up, select Edit.

In Add/Edit Test, begin to customize your test by adding or editing details, adjusting the grading scale, and adding questions.

Details

In Details, you can edit your test's Title. You can decide whether there is a Maximum Time(min) or select No Time Limit. Optionally, you can also choose Organization Share to share your test with your organization and edit your test’s Description.

Finally, you can view the test’s questions and decide whether you want to remove, add, or reorder the question pool.

When you are finished editing your test, you can Share your test with individual users, Save it, or Print it.

To access your newly created test, you will either find it in My Tests or My Shared Tests depending on whether you shared the test with your organization.

Adding Tests to Your Lincoln Empowered Content

After you’ve created and edited your tests, you may want to add them to your Lincoln Empowered content. Click here to learn more about Add Activity which will instruct you on how to add your test.

IMPORTANT: If you are adding an edited Lincoln Learning Assess It, you should unpublish the original Assess It before adding your new Assess It thereby replacing it. Click here for more information regarding adjusting content toggles in order to publish and unpublish content.
