This article introduces users to FocalPoint terms and their corresponding icons when applicable.
NOTE: Visible terms or icons depend on your FocalPoint customizations.
Setup
Term | Definition |
Provisioning | Ability given to District Users to add teachers, school admins, learners, sites, and sections to a tenant. |
Section | Rostered courses within a site which District Admins can set up manually. It can also be done with a Student Information System integration or completing an Order Tenant Form (Excel spreadsheet). |
Site | School or Schools within a tenant. |
Tenant | FocalPoint term referencing how partners are set up in the platform. Tenants reference clients which can represent school districts or individual schools. A tenant is not a user. Most schools using LLS will be under the Lincoln Academy Tenant. |

Performance | Area where users can view drillable and customizable data dashboards based on their given permissions and see a list of users to which the educator has access (LT Learners). | |
Resources | Area where students can find supplemental content; district users can add, edit, save, and share content, tests, and questions. Admins can search Learning Tree Activities for Lincoln Learning Object Repository. |

My Profile | Found under your My Profile picture. Area for user information with the ability to upload profile picture, reset password, and provide general information regarding the user. | |
Notifications |
Students - alerted of teacher feedback, additions/edits to the community, announcements, etc. Teachers - alerted to student submissions, messages on assignments, direct messages, etc. Notifications preferences are able to be customized in My Profile. |

Settings | Users can change settings to customize the look of their view in Learning Tree. |

Course Usage Dashboard | Area where students can see how they have used their course by duration or visits for month, year, week, and day. | |

Students – access materials teachers have placed in this area. Teachers – create folders and upload supplemental learning opportunities for students. |

Goals | Area where students can set goals and plans to work towards achieving them. | |
Home | Community homepage and a place for educators to edit their course details. | |
Learning |
Students - access their course content. Teachers - add, remove, and edit their course content. |

Meetings | Area where community members can access live meetings educators have created. | |

View users who have access to the community. |

Progress |
Students – view course progress across all lessons. Teachers – view course progress for all students across all lessons. They can choose data fields to view desired data. |

Report Card |
Students – see their gradable activities and keep track of their grades. Teachers – see all gradable activities per student and access graded activities. They can also view Overall Performance, Overall Percentage, Overall Total, and Overall completion. |

Quintile |
The Outcome Level found in some reports referring to which 5th of the percentage quintile a student's scores fall into. It is ideal to see students in the fifth or fourth quintile for passing scores. Below are the quintile parentages and levels explained:

Token | Unique alphanumeric identifier assigned to users, communities, tests, etc. For example, a parent will need their student’s token to access the parent portal, and a student may need a token to access a custom assessment or community. Not all assessments or communities will need a token for access. |

Test Accommodations | Found in Provisioning, admins can apply test accommodations to students. Applying these accommodations is applicable only to districts who have purchased AssessCloud through FocalPoint. |

Bookmark (Student) | Click the bookmark to add content to the student’s community homepage. | |
Bookmark (Teacher) | Click to bring the community to the top of the communities homepage for all users. | |
Community | Customizable area where users can teach, learn, observe, and monitor progress; where the course lives. | |
Marketplace Communities | Gives any student the ability to self-enroll in a community using a token given by the teacher. This is an option that can be turned on when creating and/or editing a community. | |

Field Chooser | Use to create customized adhoc reports. Select fields, drag and drop fields into rows and columns, and filter fields. Similar to building PivotTables. | |
Track Time on Tasks | Produce an Excel Spreadsheet featuring what activities the student spent time in and how much time by date. |
