This resource discusses Lincoln Learning Solutions' essay rubrics and provides helpful links to our rubric catalog.
About Our Rubrics
Rubrics are built within most open-ended essay questions within Lincoln Learning online assessments. These rubrics are helpful resources for both teachers and students alike. Teachers can use them to assist in grading students' work while students can use the rubrics' different criteria levels to understand what is expected from them when answering questions. As the students progress to higher grades, the rubrics become more complex because they are expected to respond to questions with more detail.
Generally, students begin encountering rubrics in first grade; rubrics for grades 3 through 5 are slightly more detailed, and rubrics for courses in grades 6 through 12 are the most complex. In addition to boosting complexity as grade levels increase, we have also tailored each of our rubrics for the content areas to which they belong—English Language Arts, Electives, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Writing, and World Languages. By adjusting rubrics for grade level and content area, Lincoln Learning Solutions can guide students appropriately toward subject proficiency and provide helpful and intuitive scoring resources for teachers.
