Lincoln Learning Solutions' Virtual Liaison

This article will overview the role of the Lincoln Learning Solutions' Virtual Liaison.

A Virtual Liaison is a Lincoln Learning Solutions' team member who provides an additional service for Lincoln Learning-taught students.

Virtual Liaisons provide individualized support as needed to students who need more assistance with navigating the learning management system, meeting course requirements, and maintaining teacher-student communication.

IMPORTANT: Virtual Liaisons only assist Lincoln Learning Solutions-taught students at this time.

When Virtual Liaison Support is Needed

NOTE: Lincoln Learning Solutions' Teacher Facilitators will first attempt to assist students on their own via email, teacher feedback, or office hours/virtual appointments.

If a teacher has not been able to successfully reach or assist the student after two (2) direct attempts to the student/guardian and two (2) direct attempts to the mentor/school contact, then the Lincoln Learning Solutions' Teacher Facilitator may reach out to a Lincoln Learning Solutions' Virtual Liaison.

Reasons a teacher may reach out to a Virtual Liaison may include:

  • Student receive three (3) or more Academic Honor referrals
  • Continued Google Docs submission issues
  • Completing Topics without submitting the assignments
  • Submitting multiple items via Submission Box that cannot be graded
  • Submitting multiple assignments with no attachments
  • Two weeks or more with no active work in any courses
  • Resets were given but have not been completed
  • Accommodations are given and explained but not being utilized (i.e., Study Guides, resets, shortened paragraphs)
  • Failing assessments and spending little time working on them and the lessons

The LLS Teacher Facilitator submits a virtual form providing relevant information to the LLS Virtual Liaison so she may reach out to the student.

How Virtual Liaisons Support

The Virtual Liaison will work through the referrals submitted.

NOTE: Due to the volume of requests received, it may be several days before the liaison can reach out to your student.

The Virtual Liaison will initially reach out via phone during the first week to make contact with the student and/or parent/guardian.

If the Virtual Liaison is able to contact the student, they will:

  • Provide troubleshooting
  • Walk through steps
  • Provide explanations

Once the issue has been resolved, the Virtual Liaison will not follow up with the student again unless the situation calls for it, or the student is again referred to the Virtual Liaison by a Teacher Facilitator.

If the Virtual Liaison is not able to reach the student after several attempts, the liaison will reach out to the mentor/school district with a summary of the information the teacher shared via the online form and the contacts the liaison attempted. The Virtual Liaison will copy the relevant teacher(s) on the email.
