NOTE: The Auto-graded model may not be available for some courses.

ASSESSMENT TYPES

Auto-graded

Auto-graded courses are comprised of purely auto-graded assessments that are scored by the learning management system (LMS), and automatic feedback is delivered to the student through the LMS.

NOTE: Clients can decide to use the auto-graded courses and add additional authentic work later. Auto-graded courses do not contain assessments that require teacher-touch. This decision is determined during implementation.

Lincoln Learning Solutions' Instructional Services

Courses taught by Lincoln Learning teachers are comprised of both auto-graded and teacher-graded assessments. Auto-graded assessments contain multiple choice, multiple answer, ordering, and matching questions that can be scored by the LMS. Teacher-graded items include essays and other project-based assignments that require the student to complete some piece of authentic work.

Client Taught

Assessment types vary based on the curriculum selection.

GRADES

Auto-graded

All assessments within an auto-graded course will be automatically graded within the LMS. Assessments will have retries automatically enabled so that students can submit or resubmit assessments more freely.

Lincoln Learning Solutions' Instructional Services

Lincoln Learning teachers provide strong feedback and utilize rubrics embedded within the curriculum. Assessments will be graded within two business days (48 hours).

COURSE PROGRESSION

Auto-graded

Students will indicate completion of ungraded course activities by clicking a MARK THIS ACTIVITY COMPLETE button. This allows each student to take as much or as little time as needed on each activity before indicating completion.

Graded course activities will be indicated as complete once they are submitted.

Lincoln Learning Solutions' Instructional Services

Ungraded activities are automatically marked as complete once a predesignated amount of time has elapsed per activity. Students must view each activity for the predesignated amount of time before the activity shows as complete, thereby pacing progress on each activity accordingly.

Graded course activities will be indicated as complete once they are submitted.

Client Taught

Course progression will be determined by the curriculum selection (Lincoln Empowered or auto-graded) and the course type (continuous or ranged).

Continuous course setup applies soft due dates to course activities based on the start and end dates of the student enrollments and the number of activities within the course. Only activities identified as graded will be found in the To-Do List within the LMS.

NOTE: Due dates for activities or assessments cannot be applied or changed with this course setting.

Ranged (traditional) courses require start and end dates. Students’ due dates are only identified if a teacher manually sets them. Due dates can be provided for both graded and non-graded assignments. Updates to blackout dates will not automatically adjust scheduled due dates. The teacher will need to make these changes manually.
