Communicating with Lincoln AI
This article provides students with tips on how to communicate with the Lincoln AI based on grade level, subject area, using power phrases, and the best ways to get access to Lincoln Learning resources. This article also features tips for Homework Helper, which is a feature specific to the Learning Coach.
When you talk to Lincoln AI, asking clear and specific questions helps it guide you so you can understand and learn what you need. If you explain what you want in detail, Lincoln AI can give you better and more helpful information. This makes it easier for you to learn and get the help you’re looking for.

Grade Levels
There are several ways to let your coach know what grade you're in when you ask for help. Try mentioning your grade at the start of your session. You can add it to the beginning or end of your first reply. Here are some examples:

- I am curious about , and I am in grade.
If the coaches' answers are too basic or too complex, you can request an alternative explanation using these examples:
- Can you explain that more simply?
- Can you make that more complex?
- Use an analogy to explain this information.

When a social studies topic focuses on a specific person or time period, you can ask the coach to role play as someone from that era to help bring the content to life. The conversation can be guided by asking the questions listed below.
