Lincoln Learning Online Assessments and Grading Resources

This resource describes Lincoln Learning Solutions’ Online Assessments, how teachers can locate the Lincoln Learning-created rubrics, and provides tips for grading.

Lincoln Learning Online Assessments

An Online Assessment is one the student completes within the LMS, similar to a quiz or test. It will contain a variety of question types including matching, ordering, multiple answer, multiple choice, fill in the blank, passage, and/or essay. Once the student submits the online assessment, it is ready for the teacher or system to grade.

Lincoln Learning Solutions Mastery Assess It and Checkpoint Assess Its are online assessment.

Checkpoints are typically found every five lessons and are automatically graded by the system.

NOTE: Credit Recovery courses do not contain Checkpoints but may contain auto-graded, lesson-level online assessments. All pre- and post-tests are also auto graded.

Mastery Assess Its are summative assessments across multiple learning objectives much like a unit exam found at the end of a module. Mastery assessments are automatically graded in the LMS unless the assessment includes at least one essay question; any essay questions require teachers to grade the student’s written response.

Open-ended Essay Rubrics

All Lincoln Learning open-ended (essay) questions were created with a rubric. Each rubric contains criteria levels that explain to learners what is expected from them when answering the open-ended questions.
