UNDERSTANDING THE TO-DO LIST

What is the To-Do List?

The To-Do List is a quick way for students to find out when assessments and/or activities are due.

TIP: The to-do list is generated by either your teacher (ranged course) or by the system based on your start and end date and number of activities in the course (continuous course).

There are two places the student can view the To-Do List: on the Buzz Home page and the Course homepage.

WARNING: Verify with your teacher if your due dates are soft (flexible) or hard (no late submissions).

NOTE: It will not only show what assignments are upcoming but also ones that are past due.

To-Do List on the Buzz Home page

The To-Do List on the Courses homepage shows all activities with a due or past due date across all courses in which the student is enrolled.

To view the To-Do List on the Courses homepage, select To-Do List.

The To-Do List will populate and will show all the activities due in all the student’s courses. The items are listed with the oldest due date at the top.

Use the Search bar to narrow down your list.

TIP: You can use the search by to narrow your list by activity name, activity type, or due date.

Selecting the item will direct you to that activity.

WARNING:  Graded items from the To-Do List should only be completed after you have completed the course content leading up to the assessment.

OTHER WAYS TO LEARN WHAT'S DUE

The To-Do List is not the only way students can find what activities are due. Below are suggestions for other ways students can learn when they have activities to complete.

Calendar

The student’s Calendar is a visual, as well as a written, representation of what items are due and when. It shows all due and past due activities across all courses.

To access the calendar from the Courses homepage, click the navicon in the upper-left corner.

From the menu, select Calendar.

TIP: You can also access your calendar within a course by clicking the Calendar icon in the menu toolbar.

Subjects are color coded for easy identification on the monthly calendar and daily, weekly, or monthly view.

Other icon options allow for you to return to the current day’s assignments, view and apply blackout dates, and sync to an outside calendar, such Google Calendar.

NOTE: For more information regarding your calendar’s blackout dates, check out Setting Calendar Blackout Dates.

Click on the activity in the display area to open and complete it.

Activities and/or assessments that have due dates will be indicated with a dot.

Teacher Email

Another way to find out what is due is to simply email your teacher and ask. You can easily do this within any area of your course.

To send an email, select the Send mail icon.

Compose your email to your teacher and click SEND
